Hands stay on the wheel. Thermal imaging through the windshield means officers never look away from the road to operate a handheld unit.
Purpose-built dashcams don't see in the dark. Handheld thermal imagers require an officer to hold them while driving. The NOPTIC solves both problems by mounting directly to your existing spotlight and connecting to your existing Mobile Data Terminal for display and recording; turning hardware you already paid for into a thermal sensor platform.
Officers gain thermal imaging through the windshield without taking a hand off the wheel. Footage records to the MDT under the same chain-of-custody protocols as dashcam video. When a pursuit ends in a field or a structure search is required, the spotlight moves with officer direction; the thermal moves with it.
Most law enforcement thermal cameras were designed for handheld or body-worn use. They solve a specific problem well but create a new one: the officer must hold or wear the device while simultaneously operating a vehicle during a pursuit or patrol sweep. Mounting these cameras in the vehicle requires a custom bracket, routed power, and a separate display; none of which is budget-approved in most departments.
The NOPTIC was engineered with vehicle integration as the primary constraint. The spotlight bracket is universal; if your patrol vehicle has a spotlight, NOPTIC mounts to it with no modification to the vehicle. Vehicle power runs through the spotlight circuit. MDT display and recording integrate through standard video input. Total installation time is measured in minutes, not days.

Installs directly on your patrol vehicle's existing spotlight. No custom fabrication, no new mounting points; the bracket is universal to standard police spotlight mounts.
Thermal feed displays on your existing MDT and records under the same protocols as dashcam footage. Chain-of-custody documentation without a new storage system.
Track a fleeing vehicle's heat signature in total darkness. See a pedestrian cross three lanes ahead before your headlights would reveal them.
After a pursuit ends, scan structures, yards, and tree lines through the windshield before officers exit the vehicle. Identify heat signatures before first approach.
Because NOPTIC mounts to the spotlight, the thermal imaging arc follows the spotlight's direction. Officers already know how to use this control; no new training.
Thermal footage recorded to MDT is timestamped and logged under existing video evidence policies. No separate retrieval workflow required for thermal evidence.
