Argus Mount — Wilcox-style shroud interface, binocular geometry, FAST helmet compatible with shroud hardware.
Future Assault Shell Technology (FAST) helmets are defined by their high-cut profile and Wilcox-style front shroud. The same shroud standard that mounts NVGs to MICH and ACH helmets transfers directly to FAST with appropriate shroud hardware — and the Argus Mount is designed for that interface. What the Argus Mount adds to the FAST platform is binocular-specific geometry: a wider, correctly balanced arm profile designed for the mass distribution of binocular NVGs, not retrofitted from a monocular-spec bale arm.
FAST helmets are the dominant platform in tier-one and professional civilian applications precisely because of their cut, weight, and accessory compatibility. The Argus Mount completes the binocular NVG integration on that platform without adapter stacks or compromised geometry.
FAST helmets are designed with a high-cut profile to reduce weight and accommodate communication headsets and hearing protection. That cut removes the side structural mass that lower-cut helmets carry. The result is a helmet platform that is lighter but also has less structural depth at the ear. For binocular NVGs, whose weight distribution is more laterally spread than monoculars, this means the mount needs to distribute load correctly at the frontal attachment point — the shroud.
A monocular bale arm centered on the shroud handles this adequately for monocular NVG geometry. Binocular NVGs have a wider, heavier moment arm. The Argus Mount's binocular-optimized geometry distributes that moment correctly at the shroud interface — no shimming, no torque compensation, no accelerated shroud wear from asymmetric load.
| Helmet | Interface | Compatibility |
| OPS-CORE FAST Carbon | Wilcox shroud standard | Compatible |
| OPS-CORE FAST ST | Wilcox shroud standard | Compatible |
| Team Wendy EXFIL Ballistic | Wilcox-compatible shroud | Compatible |
| Galvion Caiman Ballistic | Wilcox-compatible shroud | Compatible |
| MICH 2000/2001/2002 | Wilcox shroud | Direct fit |
| ACH (Advanced Combat Helmet) | Wilcox-style shroud | Compatible |
The Argus Mount mates to the Wilcox-style front shroud on FAST helmets — the same industry-standard interface used on MICH and ACH. No FAST-specific adapter required.
Arm width and pivot geometry account for the mass distribution of binocular NVGs. Correct load path through the shroud interface — not a monocular arm bent wider.
Aluminum construction minimizes the mass added at the shroud — critical on FAST helmets where forward weight balance is already optimized for the high-cut profile.
Direct Wilcox shroud interface — no intermediate adapter plates. Lower mounting height, fewer failure points, and simpler installation than adapter-based solutions.
Binocular pivot geometry provides consistent return-to-eye-position when NVGs are flipped down after stow. Repeatability matters during rapid transition between NVG and unobstructed vision.
