The MICH helmet (Modular Integrated Communications Helmet) ships from the factory with a standard NVG shroud receiver on the front bale. The Argus NVG Mount uses the same Wilcox-pattern interface — it slides directly onto the MICH shroud without modification, without adapter hardware, and without sourcing additional parts.
The low-profile aluminum housing keeps the NVG close to the helmet and reduces the forward moment arm. Less forward protrusion means less leverage on the front of the helmet during movement — less tendency for the NVG to tilt the helmet forward under dynamic loading. This is the geometry advantage of a low-profile mount over a taller, more extended design.
MICH Compatibility — Why It Matters
The MICH is the most widely fielded U.S. military combat helmet — MICH 2000, 2001, and 2002 variants have been in service since 2001. Enormous numbers remain in active use in the U.S. military, law enforcement, and the secondary market. A mount that fits the MICH without adapter hardware reaches the largest possible installed base.
Many aftermarket NVG mounts require a separate bale adapter to interface with the MICH shroud, adding a failure point, an additional part to source, and a small amount of additional protrusion. The Argus Mount uses the Wilcox pattern that interfaces directly with the standard MICH NVG shroud. No adapter. Fewer parts. Faster installation.
MICH Direct Fit

Low-Profile Design
Minimal forward protrusion from the helmet bale. Less moment arm on the front of the helmet means less leverage — NVG weight stays closer to the center of mass, reducing helmet tilt during movement.
Aluminum — Not Polymer
Aluminum housing maintains geometry under load. Polymer mounts develop flex over time with heavy use cycles, particularly with heavier binocular NVG. Aluminum does not. Critical for tube alignment in binocular systems.
Universal NVG Compatibility
Accepts PVS-14 monocular, MH-14 monocular, PVS-7 biocular, and Adams Industries binocular systems (MH-1, SENTINEL, AEON ANVG). One mount handles the full NVG lineup.
ACH and FAST Compatible
