Elbit Image Intensifier Tube for Sale — Gen 3 Thin-Film White Phosphor
Elbit thin-film white phosphor Gen 3 image intensifier tubes. All FOM tiers from 1600 to Pinnacle Select 2601+. MX-11769 and MX-10160 formats. Spec sheet included with every tube. Adams Industries direct.
Elbit Systems of America produces the thin-film Gen 3 image intensifier — the tube inside the majority of U.S. military and law enforcement night vision devices. Adams Industries sources Elbit tubes at all FOM tiers, with spec sheets verified before delivery. You know exactly what you are getting before it ships.
Elbit's thin-film technology applies a wafer-thin film to the photocathode to prevent ion feedback without the heavy MCP ion barrier that degrades signal-to-noise ratio. The result is a cleaner, brighter image at equivalent photocathode efficiency compared to filmless alternatives at the same FOM.
Elbit FOM Tiers — Select Your Performance Level
FOM (Figure of Merit) = Center Resolution (lp/mm) × Signal-to-Noise Ratio. Every Adams Industries tube ships with an individual spec sheet showing measured FOM, center resolution, SNR, halo radius, and EBI. You are buying a specific tube, not a grade range.
Standard
Entry-level Gen 3 thin-film white phosphor. Strong low-light performance, individual spec sheet, verified before shipment. Best value entry into Elbit thin-film.
High Performance
Mid-tier Elbit thin-film. Improved SNR and center resolution over standard. Preferred choice for LE and private tactical users who want verified performance above baseline.
Pinnacle
Elbit Pinnacle-grade thin-film. The threshold at which most serious users target purchases. Noticeably improved image quality, tighter halo, higher SNR at low light levels.
Pinnacle Select
Top-of-production Elbit thin-film. Exceptional SNR and resolution. Typically reserved for special operations procurement — available here direct, with spec sheet.
Why Elbit Thin-Film — Not a Generic "Gen 3"
The phrase "Gen 3" is not a performance specification — it describes photocathode material (GaAs). An Elbit Pinnacle Select and a generic Gen 3 tube are both "Gen 3." They are not equivalent. What distinguishes Elbit thin-film is the specific manufacturing process applied to the GaAs photocathode and the MCP ion barrier — or more precisely, the absence of a heavy ion barrier replaced by a thin-film coating.
Thin-Film Ion Barrier
Elbit uses a thin film instead of a heavy MCP ion barrier. Thin-film reduces signal attenuation, producing higher SNR at equivalent photocathode quality. The tradeoff is slightly lower tube life compared to filmless — a non-issue in civilian and tactical LE use at standard duty cycles.
White Phosphor Output
White phosphor (WP) produces a grayscale image versus the traditional green phosphor image. The human eye resolves more contrast detail in grayscale than green — tactically relevant for edge detection, reading terrain, and identifying low-contrast targets.
Individual Spec Sheets
Every Elbit tube Adams Industries supplies includes the original factory spec sheet: measured FOM, center resolution, SNR, halo radius, EBI, date of manufacture. Not a grade estimate — the actual tested numbers for the tube in your hands.
MX-11769 and MX-10160 Formats
Elbit tubes are available in MX-11769 (PVS-14, MH-14, MH-1, SENTINEL, AEON format) and MX-10160 (MH-1, SENTINEL, AEON, PANOS format). Specify your housing before ordering.
U.S.-Manufactured
Elbit Systems of America produces these tubes domestically under ITAR compliance. Not imported, not commercial-grade foreign-manufacture — U.S. production with a documented chain of custody.
Adams Industries Direct
Sourced and sold direct by Adams Industries. No dealer markup. In business since 1993. Every tube bench-tested and spec sheet verified before shipment.
