The OP-14 Night Vision Monocular Housing is an advanced optical tool designed for both professionals and dedicated enthusiasts who need reliable vision when light is scarce. Whether you're undertaking a tactical mission, observing wildlife at night, or simply navigating dark environments, the OP-14 provides excellent performance and comfort within a lightweight, compact unit.
A standout feature is the integrated dual articulating dovetail arm. This clever design allows you to swiftly switch the monocular between your left and right eye. Positioning is simple thanks to a central push button, while an adjustable friction hinge lets you quickly flip the OP-14 up and out of your line of sight when needed. The arm also enables low-profile storage against a helmet, which is particularly useful when driving or moving through tight spaces. This built-in arm means there's no need to purchase an additional mount.
The OP-14 Housing incorporates smart power management features. It automatically shuts off when articulated upwards or stowed away, functioning similarly to binocular systems with individual pod shutoff. To prevent accidental damage from prolonged static use, it includes a motion timeout feature that powers down the unit after two minutes of inactivity. You can easily toggle these automatic functions on or off to suit your preferences.
Weighing around 250 grams with RPO Ultralight Milspec+ lenses, the OP-14 is significantly lighter than many traditional night vision monoculars, like the PVS-14. This reduced weight minimizes fatigue during long periods of use, making it ideal for extended missions or observation sessions.
You can fine-tune the image brightness and clarity using the variable gain control. The OP-14 is compatible with all MX11769, MX10160, MX10160 3-plate, and MX0160 4-plate image intensifier tubes. It also conveniently remembers your last gain setting after powering off, saving you time during setup.
Built to withstand challenging conditions, the OP-14 features a strong polymer body combined with a durable aluminum arm. It meets MIL-STD-810G standards for shock resistance and holds an IP68 rating for water resistance, capable of handling submersion in up to 2 meters of water for an hour. This rugged build ensures reliability for military, law enforcement, and demanding outdoor use.
The OP-14 is part of an expanding system. Additional mounting solutions, such as an upcoming dual bridge for binocular configurations and thermal bridging systems, are planned. This ensures the OP-14 can adapt to your future needs, whether bridging two units or pairing it with thermal monoculars.
The housing is assembled and rigorously tested in Canada from components manufactured in China.
The OP-14 was developed to deliver excellent functionality, lasting durability, and significant weight savings without cutting corners on performance. While some monoculars achieve simplicity by removing features, the OP-14 integrates advanced capabilities into a user-friendly and compact device. It offers a high-quality night vision experience suitable for a wide range of professional and recreational activities.
Base your next monocular system or update the one you have with an OP-14 housing.
