MH-14: PVS-14 accessory-compatible with integrated dual-mode IR illuminator and dual battery logistics.
Security professionals have different requirements than recreational users or casual buyers: gear that integrates into an existing accessory ecosystem, doesn't create new training requirements, works on multiple power sources so the night shift doesn't end with a dead battery, and has active illumination capability when passive NVG isn't enough. The MH-14 is built around those requirements.
The MH-14 uses the MX-11769 tube format; the same format as the PVS-14; which means every mount, J-arm, weapon clip, and accessory already in your kit fits. What the MH-14 adds is an integrated dual-mode IR illuminator (flood and spot) that's always with the device, and dual battery input (CR123A and AA) so field battery access is never the mission limiter. You don't retrain. You don't replace your kit. You upgrade what matters.
A standard PVS-14 is a passive Gen 3 monocular; it amplifies ambient light. In rural or open terrain at night, ambient starlight or moonlight provides enough illumination for passive NVG to function well. In urban security environments; parking structures, building interiors, underground utilities, vehicle interiors; ambient illumination is often zero or near-zero. Passive NVG produces a dark, unusable image. You need active illumination.
The MH-14's integrated IR illuminator addresses this directly. Flood mode disperses IR light over a wide area for scene illumination in enclosed spaces. Spot mode concentrates output for longer-range identification at distance. Both are invisible to anyone not wearing NVGs; light discipline is maintained. The illuminator is built into the housing, not a clip-on accessory that lives on a different shelf than the device.
| Feature | Standard PVS-14 | MH-14 |
| MX-11769 tube format | Yes | Yes |
| Integrated IR illuminator | No | Yes; flood + spot |
| Zero-light performance | Requires add-on illuminator | Built-in flood/spot |
| Dual battery input | CR123A only | CR123A + AA |
| Existing accessory fit | Yes | Yes; identical format |
Wide-area IR illumination for enclosed spaces; parking structures, building interiors, vehicle interiors. Invisible to anyone without NVGs. No clip-on accessory required.
Focused long-range IR output for identification at distance. Switches between flood and spot without removing the device. Both modes always available, always with the unit.
Both battery types accepted in the same compartment. Use CR123A for extended runtime. Switch to AA when tactical resupply requires it; no adapter, no separate compartment.
MX-11769 format means every mount, J-arm, weapon clip, head harness, and lens accessory in the PVS-14 ecosystem fits MH-14 without modification.
MH-14 controls and form factor are PVS-14 compatible. Security professionals switching from PVS-14 don't need new operating procedures; the upgrade is hardware, not workflow.
MH-14 is available with white phosphor tubes for improved contrast in low-contrast security environments; faces in shadow, equipment in clutter, movement detection at distance.
